Halifax Ship Yards

The recent announcement that the Halifax Ship Yards has been awarded a 25 Billion ship building contract from the Canadian Government can not help but create demand for Nova Scotia real estate. With over 11,000 new jobs anticipated we will see many maritimers move back home. Our community collages will be graduating trades people who will be going to work at well paying long term jobs. Our baby boomers will be able to sell their homes for a fair price and retire with equity in the bank.

Our local governments will have increased revenue and government services now struggling for cash will improve. This is a game changer for Nova Scotia communities. Not only Halifax will benifit. Those communities outside the commutting circle of Halifax will see a wave of retires selling in Metro and moving out and buying houses in those communities with lower housing prices and property taxes. The wave of young Nova Scotians migrating away will shift and they will start moving home. Our banks will loosen the purse strings and look at small business with a more favorable attitude.Money will be lent and more jobs will be created.

The opptimisim will replace the pessimisson and hope will replace the despair. My advice. If you are thinking of buying a home or any type of property now is the time. Our real estate with prices deflated because of the recession is going to recover and by spring prices will be on the rise again. Those who miss this buying opportunity will look back a few years from now and think why didn't I buy back then. This obvious buyers market is not going to last much longer.

For the first time in a generation Nova Scotians can look to the future with confidence thanks to those that made this possible. I personaly want to thank the Irving family for their faith and investment in making the Halifax Shipyards the success it is and the government for making a fair and unbiased decision in choosing Halifax Ship Yards for this work.

Most of all Thank You Lord for helping make life better for Nova Scotians and God Bless the Irving Family for their committment to our maritime communities.
